ARMENIA-TURKEY NORMALIZATION WOULD CONTRIBUTE TO ARMENIA-NATO COOPERATION

An important component of Armenia-NATO relations is the participation
in NATO-led activities, Armenia's Ambassador at NATO Samvel Lazarian
said during the space bridge between the Information Center on NATO
in Yerevan and the Alliance's Headquarters in Brussels.
According to the Ambassador, this participation solves two issues -
it allows to contribute to ensuring international security and improve
the professional experience of Armenian soldiers,
According to Samvel Lazarian, the participation of Armenian
peacekeepers in Kosovo received a high evaluation. "Continuing this
tradition and taking into consideration our political decision that
Armenia should participate in ensuring international security to the
extent of its abilities, we decided to expand our cooperation and
send our servicemen to Afghanistan," he said.
Representative of NATO International Staff Lorenz Meyer-Minnemann
highly assessed the relations between Armenia and NATO, reminding
that Armenia has demonstrated great performance in the process of
implementation of the "Partnership for Peace" program.
Representative of NATO International Staff expressed opinion
that normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations would be of great
importance for providing security in the region and would positively
influence the relations between Armenia and the North-Atlantic
Alliance.
