/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Armenian and Turkish archives of the Ottoman
period has no materials on the Armenian Genocide, which can be
surprising for the Armenian side and strengthen Turkey's position on
the Armenian Genocide," Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies
of the RA NAS Ruben Safrastyan told a press conference in Yerevan,
answering the question of PanARMENIAN.Net.
The Turkish side has persistently published papers through which
it tried to deny the fact of the Genocide. But the very materials
submitted by Ankara contain direct evidence of the Armenian
Genocide. These materials also testify the fact that Turkey still
falsifies history, " the turkologist said. According to him, no
document may cast doubt on the Armenian Genocide recognized by the
majority of historians.
"Regardless of what the Turkish historians say, long past from the
time when the Armenian Genocide was a subject of debate. This is
a historically accepted fact, " the director of the Institute of
Oriental Studies said.
Turkish historian, head of the department of Armenian Studies of the
Historical Society of Turkey, Kemal Cicek said that Armenians might
be surprised at the materials of the First World War, they find in
Armenian and Turkish archives. According to Cicek, Turkey has nothing
to fear.
