YEREVAN, OCTOBER 16, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Prime Minister Tigran
Sargsyan received today Ukrainian Industrial Policy Minister,
co-chairman of the Armenian-Ukrainian trade-economic inter-governmental
cooperation commission Vladimir Novitski.
Governmental press service told Armenpress that greeting the guest
Tigran Sargsyan said that there are opportunities for development in
Armenian-Ukrainian economic relations and big not used potential.
The prime minister pointed out that it is necessary to activate
the works of the inter-governmental commission which may give new
impetus to the development of bilateral economic relations. In that
pre-context the prime minister welcomed the visit of the delegation
of the governor of the Ukrainian province of Kharkov highlighting
the boosting of cooperation between the provinces of the two countries.
Though global economic crisis brought to decrease of volume of
trade turnover between the two countries, the interlocutors expressed
assurance that the current level of trade turnover does not correspond
to real economic potential of the two countries and it is necessary
to undertake means for their expansion and the inter-governmental
commission may have a serious role in it.
The head of the government expressed hope that the activation of
works of inter-governmental commission will promote the development
of economic relations and noted that there are wide opportunities
for mutually beneficial cooperation.
