If the use of the Lachin Corridor is given to Yerevan as a link
between Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia, it will remain the territory
of Azerbaijan, Azeri Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov said.
"The Azeri side advocates bilateral use of the Lachin Corridor for
two-way traffic. But the Armenian side has not yet reached and does
not want to reach this level of understanding," Azimov told the press
on Thursday.
"Azerbaijan will under no circumstances hand over part of its
territory," he said.
Experts and the co-chairmen of the Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe's Minsk Group must carry out land surveillance
before opening a ground link between Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia
through the Lachin Corridor, which runs across an Azeri district with
the same name, occupied by Armenia, the diplomat said.
