Armenian leader commends US support for normalizing ties with Turkey
Yerevan, 12 October: Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated that "it
would be impossible to make efficient progress in normalizing the
Armenian-Turkish relations without the decisive support of the USA", a
congratulatory message sent by the Armenian president to his US
counterpart Barack Obama on his awarding the Nobel Peace Prize reads,
Mediamax reports.
"I express my sincere gratitude for the consistent assistance rendered
by you and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the issue of
normalizing relations between Armenia and Turkey. I am sure that it
would be impossible to make efficient efforts in this direction
without the decisive support of the USA," the Armenian president said.
Sargsyan also noted that Armenia highly praises the "constructive
activities of the USA as the OSCE Minsk Group's co-chair country aimed
at settling the Karabakh conflict".
