US, TURKISH PRESIDENTS DISCUSS "HISTORIC PROGRESS" IN YEREVAN-ANKARA RELATIONS

Turkish President Abdullah spoke to the US President by phone on
Saturday. The White House said that Turkey's President Abdullah Gul had
a phone talk with U.S. President Barack Obama, and the two discussed
a wide range of issues, including the situation in Afghanistan and
the evolving relations between Turkey and Armenia.
The two leaders also spoke about the "historic progress" being made
to normalize relations between Turkey and Armenia "and the importance
of maintaining the momentum in this important effort," the White
House reported.
