GULTEKIN HAJIBEYLI: "WE HAVE ALWAYS SUPPORTED TURKISH DELEGATION AT PACE"

Baku - APA. "We never changed our position toward Azerbaijan despite
that it did not recognize Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Sometimes they left us alone at the European Council Parliamentary
Assembly unawares, but we have never left them alone. We have informed
Azerbaijan about every round of talks with Armenia. This process is a
good chance for ending of occupation of Karabakh, which is difficult
for Azerbaijani troops to defend", Turkish State Minister Egemen
Bagish told Haberturk, APA reports. "It is impossible to understand
the lowering of our flags, closing of the mosques, gas threats like
Russian threats against Georgia and Ukraine and to explain it to the
Turkish community. It is impossible to separate us from our Azeri
brothers, because we need them and they need us. Heydar Aliyev said
we are two states and one nation".

Bagish said he hoped that this process would bring peace, stability
and richness to the South Caucasus. "If we don't use this chance,
it will never come to us".

Member of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Gultekin Hajibeyli told APA
that the Azerbaijani delegation was always together with the Turkish
delegation at PACE. "There was no discrimination between us. We
always supported the Turkish delegation. It must be so because the
Turks should be in union with each other".

Regarding non-recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
by Azerbaijan, Hajibeyli said Turkey knew its reason very well.

"Everyone knows that if the independence of Turkish Republic of
Northern Cyprus is recognized, the issue of recognition of Nagorno
Karabakh independence will come to agenda immediately. It is not
correct to make difference between the Turks in the Northern Cyprus
and Nagorno Karabakh. All of us are Turks. It is not correct for the
high-ranking officials to make such statements and to create coldness".
