"Our rallies have never had a fictive character. We hold rallies to
convey our concerns to public," says Stepan Demirchian, Leader of
the People's Party of Armenia (HZhK).

The HZhK finds the formation of a historians' sub-commission to
study the massacres of 1915 inadmissible. Obviously, the Protocol
provision enables Turkey to reject the Armenian Genocide and hinders
its recognition worldwide. Turkey can say to other countries: "Don't
poke your nose into our affairs. We have set up a sub-commission and
we shall settle our problems ourselves. Evidently, U.S. President is
no longer bound to utter the word ""Genocide".

Regarding the authorities' statements that the Armenian Genocide can
never be questioned, Mr. Demirchian said: "Surely, the Armenian side
cannot question the issue. The Genocide is questioned by the opposite
side and other countries which is a rough mistake."

"Armenian authorities make false announcements when they say that the
Karabakh conflict is not linked to Armenian-Turkish relations. Though
the Protocols make no reference to Karabakh, Turkey has always
linked the normalization of bilateral ties with the resolution of the
Karabakh conflict. The statements of Abdullah Gul and Recep tayyip
    Erdogan speak of this."

HZhK's stance towards the Karabakh conflict remains unaltered.

"The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic was to be engaged in the talks from the
very beginning and Armenia needn't have replaced NKR in the talks. The
Minsk group also states that Nagorno-Karabakh should be involved in
    the talks."

Stepan Demirchian says the Armenian parliament will ratify the
Protocols regardless of Armenian Revolutionary Federation's protests.

"Our parliament will simply execute the order of Serzh Sargsyan."

Regarding the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border, Mr. Demirchian
said: "Our country will not thrive even after the border opening.

Armenia will not thrive unless the acting criminal and oligarchic
regime resigns office. The opening will prove effective if it is
accompanied by radical changes inside the country. Our first and
foremost task is to get rid of this oligarchic system."
