ARA PAPIAN TO BE INTERNATIONAL GUEST FOR SECOND ANNUAL ANC AUSTRALIA ADVOCACY WEEK

SYDNEY, OCTOBER 21, NOYAN TAPAN. The Armenian National Committee of
Australia (ANC Australia) has announced His Excellency Ara Papian,
the former Armenian Ambassador to Canada, as the international guest
for the second annual ANC Australia Advocacy Week this November. ANC
Australia Advocacy Week, which runs from November 16-22, will include
a series of activities and events designed to explain the importance
of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
According to information released by ANC Armenia, Ara Papian, a former
diplomat at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, rose to prominence
as Ambassador to Canada when the country's government passed a motion
recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
At the ANC Australia Annual Banquet on November 20, Mr. Papian will
be joined by the Hon. Michael Atkinson MP, who was the chief sponsor
of the South Australian Legislative Assembly's motion recognizing
the Armenian Genocide in April this year.
