    PRESS RELEASE

The Civilitas Foundation, through its website, www.civilitasfoundation.org,
has initiated a project called CIVILITAS CONNECTS.

`There are so many good people with good ideas doing good work, in Armenia
and in the Diaspora, that we decided to use the reach of the Civilitas
website and Civilitas newsletters to link good people to good ideas,'
explains Civilitas Director Salpi Ghazarian. `This way, those who wish to
support such projects and those who wish to expand their work will be able
    to connect,' she said.

The project, begun several months ago, consists of short (four minute)
interviews with various educational, scientific, humanitarian and youth
organization leaders who explain what they do, why they do it, and the
    outcomes of their work.

The first interviewee was physicist Yervant Terzian who heads the Armenian
National Scientific and Educational Fund which supports research by
scientists in Armenia. Another interviewee, Khachik Gevorgyan, has
singlehandedly developed an extensive network of academics and researchers
in Armenia to whom he regularly offers information and support. Other
interviewees include Sara Anjargolian of Los Angeles, whose photo
documentary project follows the lives of families separated because of
    economic need.

The videos (some in English, others in Armenian) which are updated twice
weekly are part of the Civilitas Foundation efforts to strengthen civil
society by supporting the efforts of individuals who make a contribution to
    Armenia's development.
