TURKEY AIMS TO GAIN AZERBAIJAN'S TRUST: DAVUTOGLU IN BAKU

The Turkish foreign minister said in Baku on Thursday that Turkey
would not distinguish between Azerbaijani and Turkish territories,
reports Turkish news agency Anadolu Ajansi.

Davutoglu's visit comes at a time when relations between the two
    countries are somewhat strained.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey would not
differentiate between Azerbaijani and Turkish flags.

"Azerbaijan's territorial integrity is as important as that of
Turkey's, and it has a strategic priority for us," Davutoglu said.

"Nothing can change the fact that Turkey will always stand by
Azerbaijan, and Turkey's position on Azerbaijan's territorial integrity
and its territories under occupation," he said.

Azerbaijan, which has been uneasy about the recent rapprochement
between Turkey and Armenia, voiced concern and sought reassurance
from the government of Turkey that it would not reopen borders with
Armenia before a settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Davutoglu said Armenian-Turkey normalization would be robust only if
there was a comprehensive normalization in the region.

"From now on, Turkey will bring up Karabakh and settlement of
Azerbaijani-Armenian dispute in every occasion, even though Azerbaijan
will not do so," he also said.
