On October 23, Armenian Ambassador to Italy Ruben Karapetyan submitted
his credentials to Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, informs the
Armenian Foreign Ministry press office.
During the private talk following the credentials submitting ceremony,
the Italian president stated Armenia is an important partner for
Italy and Armenian-Italian relations goes back thousands of years.
Ambassador Karapetyan, for his part, stressed Armenia's readiness to
raise its relations with Italy to a new level. With this aim in mind,
Ambassador Karapetyan, on behalf of Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan,
invited Napolitano to visit Armenia.
At the Italian president's request, Ambassador Karapetyan presented
the latest developments in Armenia-Turkey relations and the issue
of Nagorno-Karabakh.
