FIVE KILLED IN RAILWAY ACCIDENTS IN ARMENIA IN JAN-OCT 2009

YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Five people have been killed in nine
railway accidents in Armenia over the period between January and
October 2009, the press office of Armenian Police Department reports.
Two people were rendered disabled and other two injured in the railway
accidents happened this year.
The latest accident was reported on Friday.
The press office of the South-Caucasian Railways reports that a
Gazel truck driven by a drunk man crashed into the Gyumri-Yerevan
electric train.
Fortunately, nobody died, and the truck driver was slightly injured.
The South-Caucasian Railways urges everybody to observe traffic rules
and cross railway lines only in special sites.
The South-Caucasian Railways CJSC is concession manager of the Armenian
Railway Company. South-Caucasian Railway, fully owned by the Russian
Railways Company, listed in its fixed assets the rolling stock of
the Armenian Railway on June 1, 2008, under a concession contract of
February 13, 2008.
Armenian Railway has been handed over to the South-Caucasian Railways
CJSC for 30 years with a right for one-decade prolongation.
