HOVIK ABRAHAMYAN: "DELAY OF THE PROTOCOLS' RATIFICATION BY TURKEY WILL DESERVE ADEQUATE ATTITUDE OF THE ARMENIAN SIDE"
National Assembly
Oct 29 2009
Armenia
On October 28, RA President of the National Assembly Mr. Hovik
Abrahamyan received Mr. Peter Semneby, EU Special Representative for
the South Caucasus.
The sides focused on normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations
without preconditions during the meeting.
Mr. Abrahamyan reaffirmed the position of the Armenian side in
that issue and stressed that the delay of the ratification of the
protocols, which were signed on October 10, by Turkey would deserve
adequate attitude of the Armenian side. In that context, he underscored
that with those protocols Armenia had not undertaken any unilateral
responsibility and had taken that step to create necessary bases for
the establishment of natural relations between the two countries. RA
NA President informed EU special representative that if Turkey did
not ratify those protocols in reasonable period then the Armenian
side would immediately take adequate steps.
