EDWARD NALBANDYAN: ARMENIAN-BELARUS RELATIONS ARE ON A HIGH LEVEL AND ARE DEVELOPING DYNAMICALLY

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 30, ARMENPRESS: Armenian-Belarus relations are on a
high level and are developing dynamically, Armenian Foreign Minister
Edward Nalbandyan said today at the joint press conference with his
Belarus counterpart Sergey Martinov. According to him, together with
Martinov they discussed issues on cooperation in economic, political,
    cultural, humanitarian spheres.

Next year Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and
Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan are expected to visit Belarus.

    E. Nalbandyan said that bilateral cooperation exists between Syunik
and Minsk provinces and tomorrow a memorandum on cooperation will be
signed between Grodnoy and Shirak. Next year in Belarus and Armenia
cultural days of the two countries will be held. The volume of trade
turnover between the two countries is 30 million USD but the minister
said the volume will be increased several times.

Martinov said that he is pleased with the current bilateral political,
cultural dialogue and noted that the current level of trade turnover
    is not satisfactory.

"If in conditions of global economic crisis the trade turnover reaches
30 million USD in near future we must exert efforts for increasing
it several times. We are ready to increase the representation of the
Armenian products in the Belarus market. We must also increase the
level of agricultural and machine-building cooperation. In Armenia
we are planning to establish a factory producing Belarus tractors
and we must provide buses and lifts to the Yerevan municipality,"
    Martinov said.
