ArmInfo. The President of Armenia is free to visit Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic whenever he likes, Minister of Defense of Armenia Seyran
Ohanyan said when asked by ArmAr to comment on the statement by Azeri
DM Safar Abiyev, who said that the President of Armenia has no right
to visit Nagorno-Karabakh and that his recent visit to NKR may become
the last.
"We understand Abiyev's wishful thinking but I would advise him to
comment on the visits of his own president. As regards the visit of
the President of Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh, he is free to visit
NKR whenever he likes," Ohanyan said.
Concerning the Azeri statements made in response to the last military
exercise in Nagorno-Karabakh saying that "Azerbaijan is aware of
everything and will not allow the enemy to get more active" and that
"the Azeri army can liberate the occupied territories," Ohanyan said:
"It is not the first time that the military and political leadership
of Azerbaijan has appeared with such not serious statements. The
Azeris are always sensitive about military exercises in NKR. The
Defense Army of NKR is highly efficient and experienced, has modern
arms and can rebuff any infringements. I would prefer not to comment
on the statements that the Azeri army is highly efficient. I can only
say that allegations are not criteria of efficiency. I am sure that
the Azeri DM knows that."
