On October 31 a Condolence Book was opened at the US Embassy in Yerevan
connected with the death of Senator Edward Kennedy. Armenia's President
Serzh Sargsyan left a note in the Condolence Book.
It says in part,
"It was with great sorrow that I learnt about the death of Senator
Edward Kennedy.
The prominent political figure was Armenia's friend who championed
the interests of the Armenian people.
No one can deny the Senator's humanitarian assistance during the
Armenian earthquake, Artsakh war, military conflict and Armenian
Genocide recognition.
His memory will remain bright in our hearts."
Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly Arevik Petrosyan today visited
the US Embassy to leave a note in the Condolence Book.
