STAR OFFERS NEW PRICES FOR 120 NAMES OF MASS CONSUMER GOODS TO BE LOWER THAN THE AVERAGE MARKET LEVEL

ArmInfo. Within the frames of the network reorganization programme,
supposing a drive for maximum satisfaction of the purchasers'
demands, the biggest retailer of Armenia, STAR Company, has performed
an analysis according to which over 90% of the people consider the
acceptable level of prices a very important factor during purchase of
the basic goods, STAR Marketing Director Narine Avetisyan told ArmInfo.
"Taking into account this facto, STAR has made a decision to replenish
its promo- activity with a new price strategy", she said. According
to her, a special promo- programme named "Always Low Prices" will be
implemented in the work of the network supermarkets in addition to the
regular price actions. The programme aims at permanent and consistent
maintenance of prices for the offered range of goods at the level lower
than the average market one. 120 names of the mass consumer goods,
which enter the consumer basket, as well as the brand goods from among
those, being the most popular and highly sought by the STAR purchasers,
have become the basis of the strategy. "Due to such a system, every
family will find a new commodity in the supermarket which satisfies
the needs and financial capacity", N. Avetisyan emphasized.
To recall, STAR Company has already completed part of the work on
large-scale reorganization of the business based on the international
standards, to assure a qualitatively new development level.
STAR network, which has been functioning since 1998, currently numbers
13 supermarkets (12 - in Yerevan and 1 - in Hrazdan).European Bank
for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) with 28,3% equity share is
one of the STAR shareholders.
