"For Turkey the main thing is interests of Azerbaijan, so we must
be very careful in terms of rapprochement with Armenia," publicist
Yilmaz Oztuna said in Turkey's state-owned 'Turkiye' newspaper.
"Armenia is now in need of air and we hold the oxygen bag. So if it
wants to normalize relations, it should take a step towards us. The
most positive step in this case would be the liberation of the occupied
lands of Azerbaijan," Oztuna said in his article.
"We want to be friends with all neighbors, but how can we live
peacefully so long as our blood brothers, Azerbaijanis refugees
live in poor conditions. Therefore, we expect positive response from
Armenia. Armenians are smart people. Let them make conclusion that
without the liberation of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan
they will never be able to live peacefully in the region. If they
understand this, Armenia will have wide opportunities to integrate
into the world community," the publicist noted.
