H. ABRAHAMYAN, "NA IS READY TO PROMOTE COOPERATION WITH THE WORLD BANK"

National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan received today head of
the World Bank Armenian Office Aristomene Varoudakis.
NA public relations department told Armenpress that welcoming the guest
NA Speaker highly assessed the cooperation of the Armenian authorities
with the World Bank and noted that the National Assembly is ready to
promote that cooperation. In that context he attached importance to
the implementation of oversight functions assumed by the Parliament
by RA constitution, particularly in regard of getting the utmost use
of the loans extended to Armenia for the economy of the country.
At the meeting the interlocutors discussed the global
financial-economic crisis and its impact on the economy of
Armenia. They referred to the prospects of the possible cooperation
in the development of RA NA professional and technical capabilities
with the support of the World Bank as well.
NA Vice-Speaker Arevik Petrosyan also took part in the meeting.
