Yerevan. 8 September: Armenian-Turkish protocols "poses threat
to Armenia's national and state interests", Hrant Margaryan, a
representative of the Bureau of the [opposition] Armenian Revolutionary
Federation-Dashnaktsutyun [ARFD], said in Yerevan today.
He said that "the ratification of these documents with their existing
form is fraught with a national divide, the Armenian people should
say "No" to these protocols and the authorities of the country should
accept expression of the people's will".
"Otherwise, the authorities will be doomed to suicide, and we will have
to pay for this mistake for ten years", the ARFD representative said.
Margaryan noted that Turkey unilaterally closed the border with
Armenia in 1993 and "now should unblock it in the same fashion".
