15:21 / 09/09/2009"I consider Armenia's participation in Nabucco
program a PR action aimed at enhancing Armenian authorities'
interest," political analyst Yervand Bozoyan told NEWS.am, commenting
on the possibility of Armenia's involvement in Nabucco project
once Armenia-Turkey border is open. The political analyst assumes
"they try to make Armenian side to understand how it will benefit if
from Armenian-Turkish relations' normalization and Karabakh conflict
settlement.
Bozoyan pointed out that prior to speaking of Armenia's involvement,
"we should realize how realistic Nabucco project is, there are issues
to be addressed, having Iran's participation questioned, just as
Turkmenistan (encountering number of problems, but being ready to join
only on complementarity principle, that is to supply Nabucco with its
gas surplus). Thus, I would not take Nabucco seriously," Bozoyan said.
Asked whether Iran-Armenia gas main might join Nabucco, Yervand
Bozoyan replied: "I do not rule out this possibility, however if Iran
participates in this project, it can directly carry its gas towards
the main through Turkey to evade resellers".
