ARFD on Protocol omission
20:35 / 09/11/2009`It is inadmissible when Armenia-Turkey Protocols
hold back the right of a nation for self-determination whereas other
international principles, such as ` territorial integrity,
inviolability of frontiers, non-intervention in internal affairs of
other states, etc. ` are mentioned,' declared Armen Sargsyan, Head of
ARF Dashnaktsutyun ` `Movement 88' of NKR National Assembly.
He added that `some politicians are definitely backing Armenia-Turkey
protocols assuring there is no linkage to Nagorno-Karabakh issue
maintaining there in no word `Karabakh' in the document.'
`Meanwhile this is a major omission, and we will seriously consider it
because it concerns the future of NKR. It is strange why the document
mentioned only one out of two equal principles of international law?'
Sarksyan asked.
According to him, much concern appeals the prospect of extension of
Turkey's presence up to Azerbaijan through Armenia.
`When normalizing relations with Turkey, we should come from
fundamental national interests and joint decisions made by Armenia,
Artsakh, and Diaspora,' ARFD leader assured.
In the context of Armenia-Turkey normalization, Turkish side makes
statements through second or third parties on that they will adhere to
Azerbaijani interests and that the normalization will not be possible
till Karabakh issue is resolved.
`If these are fair relations, then how such statements could be made?
Why Armenia does not give a proper response?' Armen Sargsyan expressed
his concern
