Famous names from Armenia's entertainment business often take advantage
of the country's road police's forgiveness. During a press conference
today, Armenian Road Traffic Police Chief Norik Sargsyan stated that
he doesn't accept the existence of such occurrences.
In response to a question related to 'interesting' plate numbers
(in Armenia, the famous and the wealthy often have "special" licence
plates), Sargsyan responded by saying they are working on specifically
those types of matters.
"If you follow road traffic closely, you will find that drivers of
those 'interesting' plate numbers are more law-abiding than other
drivers," assured Sargysan.
Speaking on the issue of the use of seatbelts by drivers, Sargsyan
noted that the road inspector's field of vision doesn't exclude even
those who drive vehicles with tinted windows.
