LEADER OF TURKEY'S DEMOCRATIC LEFT PARTY: AZERBAIJAN'S CONCERNS SHOULD BE NECESSARILY TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION

    Azerbaijan

Baku - APA. Following the meeting with leader of Felicity Party
Numan Kurtulmus and leader of Republican People's Party Deniz Baykal,
Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with leader of Democratic
Left Party Masum Turker within the framework of the six-week internal
political discussions concerning the protocols initialed with Armenia,
APA reports quoting Turkish news agencies.

Masum Turker told journalists after the meeting that they expressed
their views concerning the protocols. Turker expressed their concern
that even if the protocols are confirmed and borders are reopened,
Armenia will not recognize Kars treaty.

"We are mainly concerned about the Karabakh problem and ignorance of
Azerbaijan's position in this issue. We expressed our views to the
minister. We consider that the issues that resulted in the closure
of the borders with Armenia should be taken into consideration. The
government should not take this way unless these reasons are
eliminated. Respectable Minister said they will take our views
into consideration and will meet with us again if necessary. But we
consider that Azerbaijan's concerns should be necessarily taken into
    consideration," he said.

Masum Turker also protested against Switzerland's mediation in
the negotiations with Armenia. He said Switzerland recognizes the
so-called Armenian genocide and even holds accountable those who deny
    the so-called genocide.

"The authorities state that the joint commission of historians will
discuss the genocide issue, but Armenians say to the contrary. We
are concerned about it," he said.
