ArmInfo. The press has misinterpreted the functions of the
Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee on March 1 2008 creating too much
expectation in public, says Galust Sahakyan, Leader of the Republic
Party of Armenia faction in the parliament, when commenting on the
Thursday action of protest in front of the Parliament.
"The public may got an impression that the Ad Hoc Committee could
independently investigate into the cases. The Committee had no such
functions, indeed," G. Sahakyan said. He said that both the Ad Hoc
Committee and the National Assembly are interested in the right
investigation into the given cases. "The Committee has completed its
activity. But we are following further developments," he said.
"I do not think it necessary searching for the principals in the
first degree. I do not share certain opinions in this context. The
authorities bear the responsibility and take relevant actions
proceeding on this," he said.
