"I understood that the issue is put in this way: either you sign what
is there, or you don't sign at all, and this is simply unacceptable
for us," stated ARF-D supreme body representative Armen Rustamian,
expressing his impression after the meeting with President Serzh
Sargsyan.
He noted that they expressed their concerns and they were convinced
that "this process is a tactic, which will keep us away and divert us
from implementing our national goals. We consider that establishing
relations without preconditions should have been Armenia's only
concession."
Rustamian stated that at the meeting with the president there were
authorities who had expressed the same concerns which the ARF-D had.
Speaking on the risk of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols, Rustamian said
Turkey is on the path of denial. According to the Rustamian, they have
information that Turkey is already going to appeal to countries that
recognized the Armenian Genocide to reconsider their decision, in order
not to disturb the Armenian-Turkish reconciliation process in any way.
