The newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to Armenia Juan Antonio March
Pujol (seat in Moscow) handed his credentials to Serzh Sargsyan today.
"Armenia and Spain cherish the same values and have a long history of
culture which creates good preconditions for development of bilateral
relations," said President Sargsyan.
According to Ambassador Pujol, Spain aspires to raise the relations
with Armenia to the level that corresponds to the constantly changing
requirements of the globalizing world.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the possible courses for
cooperation. They attached importance to the intensification of
trade-economic relations and the creation of the necessary legal field.
Sargsyan and the newly appointed ambassador also touched upon
Armenia-European Union relations and the bilateral cooperation within
that framework. The Ambassador said that Spain is going to assume EU
presidency next year and is about to take serious steps to develop
and deepen the relations.
