Armenia's governing authorities continue to insist there are no
preconditions in the Protocols on the establishment of Armenian-Turkish
relations, but the Turkish side is already speaking about realizing
the pre-conditions; that is, about the victory of Turkish diplomacy,
said ARF-D parliamentary faction leader Vahan Hovhannisyan while
speaking with journalists today.
"Armenian diplomacy has been disgraced; it wasn't able to protect
Armenia's interests. Our state officials continue to insist that there
are no preconditions in the Protocols. But everything is clearly put on
our table. Moreover, Davutoglu's latest statement already is connected
not only with Nagorno-Karabakh, but also with Minsk Group's, in their
opinion ineffective, work and their readiness to make the work more
effective. That means, Turkey, already with a legitimate status, is
trying to participate in the settlement process of the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict. This is a diplomatic defeat," Hovhannisyan said.
Hovhannisyan also spoke about Armenian diplomacy and its unending
aim to please international organizations.
"You may have noticed that they admit there are risky points,
however, they say: 'See how the world applauds us, see how they
like us, what a name we have made for ourselves, soon they are
going to grant Nobel prizes to all of us' ... It is not an authentic
pleasure. As soon as the signature ink dries, the applause will stop
and new responsibilities will be before us, already connected with
Nagorno-Karabakh..."
