Today, newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to Armenia Antonio March
Pujol submitted his credentials to President of the Republic of
Armenia Serzh Sargsyan (seat in Moscow).
"Armenia and Spain share the same values, have a vast cultural history,
which creates good preconditions for development of cooperation,"
Serzh Sargsyan said.
According to Ambassador Pujo, Spain strives to raise relations with
Armenia to a level that is in line with the continuously changing
demands of a globalized world.
President Sargsyan and the ambassador exchanged ideas on possible
directions of cooperation, placing importance on the development of
trade and economic ties, and the formation of a necessary legal and
contractual pact. As a potential area, Ambassador Pujo identified
university cooperation, which may create a sacred bridge between
young generations.
They also discussed Armenia-European Union relations and bilateral
cooperation within that context. The ambassador said that next year,
Spain will take over as chair of the European Union, and it intends
to take serious steps to foster and deepen relations, reports the
press office of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
