FRANCE : PATRICK FIORI TURNS 40

    esctoday.com
    Sept 23 2009

Today, Patrick Fiori turns 40 years old. The man is still touring
French-speaking territories, with a special show following the release
of the album Les choses de la vie, in November 2008. A total of 7
concerts are scheduled in October and 9 in November.

Patrick Fiori (born Patrick Jean-Francois Chouchayan to an Armenian
father and a Corsican mother) has been singing since he was a child. He
began his career on stage at the age of 12, playing the role of a
teenager in a musical. He then entered a lot of talent shows and
managed to sing as a supporting act in concerts by Gilbert Montagne
and Michèle Torr. Patrick was still unknown to the general public when
he was chosen to go to Millstreet, with a song composed by Francois
Valery. Nothing really changed for him after the Eurovision experience.

A first CD album on a big label was published in 1998 (Prends-moi). At
the same time, Fiori joined the Notre-Dame De Paris' cast and
placed at number 1 of the French charts three months and an half
with the song Belle, performed with Canadian singers Garou and Daniel
Lavoie. Belle was elected Best Song Of The Year at the French Grammies
(Victoires) in 1999 and Notre-Dame De Paris received the Best Musical
award. Patrick Fiori was back on top of the French selling list
for two weeks in August 2007, with the song 4 Mots Sur Un Piano,
performed with Jean-Jacques Goldman and Christine Ricol.

Together with the present tour, in every town where the concert is
given, Fiori's management organises a talent show to make it possible
for a young girl to get on stage and to perform the female part of
the song 4 Mots... together with Patrick himself!

A special website was launched last November, with the release
of Fiori's latest CD album Les Choses De La Vie, an album made
of personal versions of songs from movie pictures (The Godfather,
Borsalino, Mayrig, Forbidden Games, The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg and
Fame, to name a few) .
