YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 24, NOYAN TAPAN. Opening the Armenian-Turkish border
may have a considerable impact on Armenia's economy, Chairman of the
RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition Ashot
Shahnazarian said during the September 24 press conference, noting
that it will result in a fall of prices and elimination of monopolies
and also promote competition in various sectors of the economy.
"There is no restriction on the entrance of goods from Turkey to
Armenia today as these goods are brought through Georgia. With the
border's opening, our opportunities, especially export opportunities,
will increase," the commission chairman underlined.
