Armenia's PM Thanks Vladimir Putin For Russia's Assistance
A delegation headed by Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan is in
Yaroslavl, Russia, on a business visit. The Armenian-Russian
intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between the two
countries begun its work in Yaroslavl.
Before the start of the session, commission co-chairs Tigran Sargsyan
and Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin had a
private talk.
In his speech addressed to session participants, Sargsyan stated that
in the first half of the year, the crisis greatly harmed the economy,
but today, with careful optimism, one can see a tendency for the
economy to improve. This means that the Armenian government's
anti-crisis program is productive. He thanked the Russian government
and Vladimir Putin for their assistance in anti-crisis measures.
Moving on to agenda issues, participants discussed and made decisions
on the process of implementing the minutes of the Commission's 10th
session held on October 20, 2008; bilateral trade-economic relations;
outlooks on the legal contract's present situation and development;
work of enterprises transferred by Armenia to Russia to offset
Armenia's debt; the fuel-energy system; and cooperation in the area of
transport, culture and education.
