While some experts try to realize how Ankara's motto "No problems
with neighbors" links with its destructive steps taken, Turkey's PM
Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke to 64th UN General Assembly presenting
himself as a public figure who is neutralizing the tension in region
and global implications of those tensions.
"Our region's problems have global significance. That is why our
constructive and peace-keeping policy serves not only for peace in
region but all around the world," he said. It is surprising that
Turkey's PM hasn't voiced that region's problems impact on the
environment: he could be prised then by EU.
One can only guess through how many nights the speechwriters composed
that speech allowing their leader perform in "pious manner".
"Our resent efforts toward normalization of relation with our neighbor
Armenia bring its results. It is time to solve conflict between Armenia
and Azerbaijan as well as other conflicts in the Caucasus within the
territorial integrity of the countries," announced Turkey's PM.
In fact, according to Erdogan, Armenia is passively waiting for
Ankara's initiatives, and Turkey's President Abdullah Gul himself has
offered to visit Armenia for "close" watching of football match. It
seems that UN tribune serves as a platform for performing of its false
piety from which a message of "No panic, everything is under control"
is sent directly to Baku. Quasi-"humane" Ankara tries to prevent a
possible explosion of tension in region, so that no single "fragment"
of that outburst could hurt international community.
Whether everything is under control? If so then what is the point of
announcing of that every convenient time? By the way that reminds
Baku's misinformation related with Azerbaijan's ability not only
conquer Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh but whole Armenia as well,
moreover, each match in Baku's field of vision can be redrawn at
its discretion.
However, there is no sense in focusing manifestations. We can only
quote Mr. Serzh Sargsyan's congratulatory speech on the occasion of
Armenia's Independence Day: "We don't want to go in war, but we are
ready to win."
Additionally, the most comical are Azerbaijan's chief diplomat's words:
"Azerbaijan is located in the region that link East with West and
thus makes efforts to provide stability in region. In fact, Armenia
for many years bordered with a neighbor that is Azerbaijan which
overcoming through its internal problems including clan fighting,
issue of Talysh and wahhabism can provide stability in region even
thought it links with Armenian-Turkish relations' settlement. Sure,
these strivings are really laudable but incredible too much.
In meetings of that kind like UN General Assembly all unofficial
discussions and talks are not always reflected in public settlements.
Obviously, geopolitical developments make Turkey establish relations
with Armenia. That is why Ankara plays by these rules trying not
to disturb "historical" Turkey-Azerbaijan ties (how Azerbaijani
"genius" call for "real history creation", but, in fact, call for
its falsification, "Historical Azerbaijan" will remain in fairy
tales). Turkey tries to present itself as a country with role of
neutralizing prevailing problems. In a world, Ankara hopes to have
the best of both worlds.
