SPANISH FESTIVAL HONORS TEHRAN VOCAL ENSEMBLE

TEHRAN -- The Tehran Vocal Ensemble won the golden medal in the Mixed
Choir Category of the 11th International Folksong Choir Festival.
The ensemble is the only non-European participant in the event that
was held from September 23 to 26 in Barcelona, Spain.
The ensemble had three performances: one in the competition section,
one open-air concert and another at Barcelona's Church of St. Maria
del Pi - Barrio Gotico.
They performed several Azeri and Armenian pieces as well as some
European folk music during the festival.
Tehran Vocal Ensemble was awarded two medals at the 2nd Asian Choir
Games, which took place in South Korea this year.
The competing groups were judged by a group of four musicians and choir
directors, and included Germany's Michael Rinscheid, Estonia's Kai
Toe Ellermaa, Italy's Felix Resch and Czech Republic's Miroslav Kosler.
