HRAYR KARAPETYAN: I AM CONFIDENT THERE WILL BE NO WAR

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The threat of resumption of hostilities in Karabakh
will persist unless a peace agreement is signed with Azerbaijan,
according to Hrayr Karapetyan, ARF Dashnaktsutyun member and Chairman
of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, Armed Forces and Security.
"So-called historians and political scientists, who are badly informed
of the process, are spreading panic in society, what is unacceptable
for me. Moreover, alleging the Azerbaijani huge military budget, they
disserve the state by threatening people. In 1990-s, Azerbaijan's
defense expenses were great, however it did not help them win the war.
Currently we have an efficient and disciplined army what can't be said
of our neighbors," Mr. Karapetyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
At the same time, he added that in case of resumption of hostilities,
Azerbaijan will lose even more regions. "However, I am confident
there will be no war," the deputy said.
