The legendary rock-guitar player, god father of the heavy metal Tony
Iommi announced that he will record a few new songs with the vocalist
of Deep Purple Yan Gilan for getting some support for the music school
number 6 of Gyumri, Armenia.
As Mediamax reports Tony Iommi told that on t he exclusive interview
with Metal Hammer.
"Weeks ago we met with Gilan and recorded some tracks, in order to be
able to provide some support for the Armenian music school. With did
such kind of thing for Armenia several years ago and now we would
like to repeat it. We visited Armenia months ago and the Armenian
president gave us Medals of Honor. We were there with Yan, also Pet
Kash was with us. They showed us an old music school where it was very
cold and the pupils of the school had no musical instruments. We gave
them a few guitars, and some percussion instruments, we also would
like to rebuild the school for the children.
We are going to record some songs together and we hope that we will
manage to gather enough money for the reconstruction of the school.
Now our plans are in a discussion stage. We think about some live
performances, but we still need to certify our projects as I hope I
will restart my tours with the Heaven and Hell," Tony Iommi said.
Tony Iommi and Yan Gilan had visited Armenia in 2009 on October 1-2
in the frameworks of the project organized by the Mediamax titled
"Armenia Grateful 2 Rock".
