ANC URGES FIDH TO RECOGNIZE PRESENCE OF POLITICAL PRISONERS IN ARMENIA

ANC rally participants appealed to delegates of International
Federation of Human Rights (FIDH) congress calling to officially
recognize presence of political prisoners in Armenia.
In its statement, ANC expresses hope that FIDH will adopt principal
stance and make statement demanding immediate release of 14 political
prisoners from RA authorities.
"Otherwise, the regular FIDH congress will assist the hiding of crimes
committed by Armenian authorities," the statement reads.
Former Yerevan Mayor Vahagn Khachatryan took the floor, criticizing
Armenian leadership for increasing utility rates and prices for
foodstuff, NEWS.am correspondent reports. Khachatryan also charged
the authorities with sitting on their hands in easing consequences
of price rise.
