Armenia
On April 3 the parliamentary coalition forces discussed and voted
down legislation proposed by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation
(Dashnaktsutyun) (ARFD), the ARF member Artsvik Minasyan told
reporters.
He pointed out that the ARF(D) proposed amendments to the RA Law
on International Agreements, which allowed the Parliament to enter
reservations concerning the suspension or termination of agreements.
The parliamentary forces also rejected the ARF(D)'s proposal for
instituting Patriotism Day.
In this context Minasyan pointed out that the members of the Committee
on State and Legal Affairs, as well as the RA Minister of Culture, did
not read the works of Garegin Nzhdeh, the Armenian national ideologist,
otherwise they would not have proposed to define patriotism first. He
reported that, at the ARF(D)'s instance, the RA Parliament will
hold a special session. "We hope that some of the Parliament members
representing the ruling coalition will realize the importance of the
issues, and our bill be put on the agenda," Minasyan said.
