Armenian prime minister says high economic growth rate to be preserved
throughout the year
STEPANAKERT, April 10, /ARKA/. Armenian prime minister Tigran
Sarkisian said today the current high economic growth rate will be
preserved throughout the year.
Speaking at a joint session of Armenian and Nagorno-Karabakh
governments in Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh capital today, he said
the indicators of the first two months show that the projected figures
were exceed by 2.5 times. He said the government is sure that this
trend will be maintained until the end of the year.
According to government figures, Armenian economy posted a 3.1% growth
in Jan.-Feb. from the same period of time last year. The inflation in
February grew by 0.8% from January and to 8.8% from the same time span
last year. The Armenian government projects a 4 ±1.5% inflation rate
for 2010 and a 1.2% GDP growth. ($1 - 397.84 Drams). -0-
