Baku - APA. Germany's public TV station ARD broadcasted a documentary
that focuses on Armenian allegations related to 1915, APA reports
quoting turkishny.com web-page.
he 90-minute documentary "Aghet-Ein Völkermord" (Tragedy of Genocide)
included opinion of Turkish origin German politicians and French
officials related to the issue.
Turkish Community of Germany (TGD) reacted to the documentary and
stated that the documentary is not objective. General President of
TGD Kenan Kolat stated that the documents shown in the documentary
was right but many other documents were not shown on purpose. "This
proves that the documentary was not objective," said he.
Stressing that they are towards discussion of 1915 incidents sincerely,
Kolat said, "On the other hand, such documentaries do not contribute
integration of Turkish community with Germany nor the process of
rapprochement between Turkey and Armenia.
Stressing that the documentary did not give place to the documents in
Turkey's and other countries' archives, Kolat said that broadcast of
this documentary by German public TV channel while there is a process
of rapprochement between Turkey and Armenia creates concerns that there
are circles that are against Turkish-Armenian rapprochement in Germany.
Kolat said that they sent a letter to ARD and requested from public
TV channel to broadcast another documentary that will give place to
the opinion of both sides.
