ArmInfo. "I have got an impression that Foreign Ministry of Armenia is
waiting for the president before making comments on anything," Hrayr
Karapetyan, Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Defense,
Security and Internal Affairs," told media on Wednesday.
"Naturally, we do not welcome such silent waiting by the Foreign
Ministry. In fact, the Foreign Ministry had not responded for a 1.5
day to the statement by Erdogan on possible deportation of illegal
Armenian migrants from Turkey. The Ministry responded only after I
addressed a relevant question to the prime minister at the parliament.
In the meantime, in Turkey Prime Minister Erdogan affirms the
statements by Foreign Minister Davutoglu, whereas in Armenia everything
is quite opposite," he said.
Karapetyan believes that radical forces concentrated around the
Armenian National Congress constantly criticize the president
irrespective of what he says, even if he makes quite effective
initiatives. "Whereas the pro-governmental parties, they wait for the
president's opinion to consent him and to be more Catholics than the
Roman Pope. We do not welcome either of the approaches. One should
say and do what he thinks the right and what meets the national and
state interests," Karapetyan said.
