YEREVAN, April 15, /ARKA/. Armenian prime minister Tigran Sarkisian
ordered today the ministries of finance and economy to look into
how often and how effectively small and medium sized businesses are
examined by taxation and other authorities.
'We have to be very cautious and careful in this issue. We must create
favorable conditions for SME and in this sense administration is very
important because small and medium businesses are not pleased with
the government,' he said at a government session today.
The prime minister said unlike large companies small and medium sized
business are actually unable to protect themselves.
"From now on the situation in this sector will be in out limelight and
any signal from SME company will be a subject of serious discussions,'
he said.
Tigran Sarkisian said despite the government's warning inspecting
bodies examine small and medium business one after another, very
often under the pretext of situation assessment.
He cited some figures which say that the overall number of inspections
conducted by tax authorities last year rose by 82%, while the amount
of extra amounts transferred to the budget slashed by 25%.
