ArmInfo. The scandal connected with a decision about wrecking the
building of the open-air hall of the 'Moskva' cinema and construction
of a church instead, has got a sudden turn. As it has become clear,
the governmental decision was adopted against the recommendation of
Armenian Culture Minister Hasmik Pogosyan.
The activists of the group "SAVE Cinema Moscow Open-Air Hall" have
found Pogosyan's letter to the leader of Armenian government's
administration David Sarkisyan dated 25 January, that is to say a
month before the government's decision dated 25 February. The letter
says that taking into consideration where the hall is situated and
the fact that many important culture events are held there, including
the Open-air Music Festival, Culture Ministry thinks that the Open-Air
Hall should be preserved as a monument and restored later.
