Political scientist Saib Iskenderov has accused western countries.
Azerbaijani political scientist Saib Iskenderov has accused western
countries, the United States and the OSCE Minsk Group of indifference
to the problem of Armenian occupation of the Azerbaijani land, the
factual support to Armenia's aggressive policy in the South Caucasus.
Speaking at a session of the round table held at the Center of
Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijani president he expressed
bewilderment that the US demand to stop the Iranian nuclear program,
NATO's interference with the internal affairs of Afghanistan and Iraq
at the time when these countries and the military bloc pretend to be
unaware of the occupation of Karabakh by the Armenian troops.
"I do not understand why do the democratic countries that are talking
profusely about human rights and peace not prevent Armenia's aggression
on Azerbaijan or speak against the latent conflict initiated by
Armenia against the Javakheti region of Georgia", he said.
Speaking at the round table, the secretary general of International
Alert, Dan Smith, stressed the need for trust between the conflict
party and in this connection Iskenderov asked Smith: "How can we trust
the Armenian aggressor who apart from refusing to withdraw from the
occupied lands is planning to invade new lands?
