Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan seems to have changes
the main pre-condition - Karabakh issue - for the ratification of
Armenia-Turkey Protocols by limiting it only with Aghdam and Fizuli
regions adjacent to Nagorno Karabakh and currently under Armenian rule,
writes local Turkish daily HaberTurk, referring to the statements
Erdogan made after his recent visit to Washington.
"The details of the meeting with the US President Barack Obama are
gradually rising to the surface. Given the statements pronounced in
the three countries [US, Turkey, Armenia] the April 24 crisis seems
to be overcome [meaning Obama will not utter the word "genocide"
this year either]," writes the newspaper.
"As it can be seen from the statements Turkish prime minister made
yesterday, he withdrew from the Karabakh pre-condition brought forth
by himself and was satisfied only by Aghdam and Fizuli regions. While
it remains to be seen whether Ankara will be able to quicken the
ratification of the protocols in the parliament, should Armenia agree
to withdraw from those regions," concludes the newspaper.
