PROTEST ACTION AT THE TURKISH EMBASSY IN GEORGIA IN SIDELINES OF APRIL 24 COMMEMORATION EVENTS

All three Armenian deputies of the Georgian Parliament are intent to
submit a petition to the Parliament Speaker by April 24 on recognizing
the Armenian Genocide, the Armenian deputy of Georgia Armen Bayanduryan
told Panorama.am.
Panorama.am recalls that the Armenian community of Georgia called
on President Saakashvili and Georgian parliament to recognize the
Armenian Genocide.
Bayanduryan said, every year the Armenian community of Georgia, the
representatives of intelligentsia submit a petition with signatures,
calling the authorities of Georgia to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
This year the issue will be raised by the Armenian deputies for the
first time.
Mr. Bayanduryan said, April 24 commemoration events have been scheduled
in Georgia. According to him, people will pay tribute to the victims
at the Armenian Genocide memorial; candle-lighting ceremony will be
conducted in St. Gevorg Church. Besides, according to the deputy,
some organizations will hold a protest action at the Turkish Embassy
in Georgia.
Note that all three Armenian deputies of Georgia - Henzel Mkoyan,
Harutyun Hovhannisyan, Armen Bayanduryan - are members of "United
National Movement" Party. Georgian Parliament has 150 deputies.
