VIVACELL-MTS AND FPWC START ACTION SUPPORT FOR USE OF BAGS MADE OF RECYCLED PAPER

Foundation for Wildlife Conservation and cultural values (FPWC)
together with the Armenian mobile operator VivaCell-MTS within the
campaign Green Generation - 2010 started to rally in support of the
use of paper bags instead of plastic, the director-founder of FPWC
Ruben Khachatryan told reporters on Tuesday.
"Instead of the harmful environmental assets of plastic bags we are
offering the paper bags," said Khachtaryan.
According to him, agreements had already been reached with a number
of supermarkets in Yerevan - "Star," Fresh" and "Zovk" for their
customers to use paper bags as an alternative to the plastic ones.
On the package, there will be an inscription - One ton of recycled
paper saves 17 trees.
Also, as part of the campaign Green Generation, a program is being
implemented called Green Bus, a unique mobile cinema library, which
aims to raise environmental awareness of the most remote regions
of Armenia.
In addition, from April 1 to May 15 every person participating in the
SMS-shares VivaCell-MTS "Plant your tree", can help perhaps sending
a message to contribute to the planting of trees.
"Fund for Wildlife Conservation and cultural values in the Republic
of Armenia" (FPWC) was founded in 2001.
The Foundation is an attempt to save the unique nature and cultural
values.
VivaCell-MTS (CJSC K-Telecom) is the leading Armenian mobile operator,
