"The crisis helped us pull ourselves together, assess our abilities
and be guided by those directions which are important for the company.
I have no doubt that the announced programs will be implemented, but it
should also be taken into consideration that Armenia and Russia are not
in a vacuum and are part of the world economy," Deputy Board Chairman
and Head of the Department for Finance and Economics of the Russian
gas exporter company Gazprom OJSC said at a press conference today.
According to Kruglov the investment programs of Gazprom and its
daughter companies, naturally enough, needed corrections under
crisis-hit circumstances.
"We had designed a bail-out program for 2009 which has been completely
implemented. Regardless the crisis related phenomena the whole
investment programs by Gazprom has been implemented without any
essential losses," said Kruglov.
He also recalled that last year the company cut its investments by
about 30% though it has not affected the sector negatively.
"That is to say, we have been able to work correctly due to our
savings. Today we can say that the companies in Gazprom group are
not in a crisis situation though, of course, problems always exist,"
concluded Kruglov.
