On April 16-17, Armenian, Georgian and Azerbaijani Ambassadors, as
well as experts and scientists from different countries participated
in "The Caucasus: Imagining Freedom, Negotiating Dominion" conference
in St. Andrews University in Scotland.
The issues related to regional conflicts, Caucasus-West relations,
as well as political, cultural and historical issues were in focus,
RA Foreign Ministry press service informed NEWS.am.
RA Ambassador to the UK Vahe Gabrielyan spoke of Armenians'
self-dependency, the main challenges of Armenia's foreign policy,
Armenia-Turkey relations and the recognition process of Armenian
Genocide. Gabrielyan stressed that Armenia-Turkey normalization cannot
be observed in the context of relations of third countries. According
to him, Armenian leadership and people will never be able to forget
Genocide committed in 1915 or ignore it in any view. He touched upon
thoroughly the history of Karabakh conflict and presented Karabakhi
people fair fight for their rights.
Gabrielyan also answered the questions on Nagorno-Karabakh and
Armenia's regional policy.
